FineTime Main View (Windows) This image shows the FineTime (Windows Edition) main view, which is divided horizontally into an upper timetable window and lower lesson reservoir window. Lesson cards are moved between reservoir and timetable during automatic timetable generation, which is almost completed at this point, and can also be scheduled manually by drag-and-drop.
FineTime Main View (Linux) Here we see the FineTime (Linux Edition) main view, again divided horizontally into an upper timetable window and lower lesson reservoir window. A lesson card is being dragged by the user from the reservoir window into the timetable window. The red outline about the timetable slot at the current card position indicates that this is not a suitable location for the lesson.
New Group This image shows the FineTime (Windows Edition) "New Group" resource dialog. In this example, the 28 students of class 3A take all the 3rd year courses except German and Latin, preferably in Room 12. No lessons can be scheduled for this class on friday afternoons. The automatic scheduler tries to avoid scheduling lessons for the last period of the day, and does not permit "holes" between lessons for members of this class.
